Meet Ashley
Director - Mortgage Adviser
After graduating from Liverpool John Moores University with a degree in Psychology and Criminology, I spent some time travelling, exploring America and Thailand, before settling in Newcastle upon Tyne to start my career in mortgages. Over the next 12 years, I gained extensive experience advising clients in both residential mortgages and estate agency before deciding to start a family business, Sib Smart Mortgages.
I love advising on mortgages, whether it is helping someone complete their first home purchase or their tenth. The thrill of helping clients secure the right mortgage never gets old, and I really enjoy meeting new people, building connections, and exploring new homes.
Outside of work, family is everything to me. I am a proud parent to a little boy and a little girl, and I cherish spending as much time as possible with them. When I do get some time for myself, I enjoy keeping fit with gym classes, booking holidays, and travelling, with Mexico being a recent favourite destination.
Meet Stephen
Director - Mortgage Adviser
After completing my Geography degree at Liverpool John Moores University in 2014, I began my career working for a well-known high street bank. I spent four years in finance before training as a mortgage adviser in 2018, helping clients navigate one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.
During my time as one of the top advisers in the country for the bank, I developed a passion for mortgage protection, working directly with insurance providers to ensure advisers nationwide could have meaningful conversations about safeguarding what matters most. Helping people secure their dream home and protect their future is something I never tire of.
Outside of work, family is everything to me. I am a proud parent to my son and younger daughter, and I cherish every moment I spend with them. Football is also a huge part of my life. I still play 11-a-side on weekends and when I’m not on the pitch, I support Liverpool FC as a season ticket holder. Travelling to watch them play and meeting fellow fans along the way is something I will never get bored of.
